open cube Artemi - Maria Gioti (b. 1990) is a composer, performer and researcher working across the disciplinary boundaries between art, science and technology. Her interests include among others human-computer interaction, computational intelligence, sonification and the development of mechanically controlled and sensor-augmented instruments.

She studied Composition at the University of Macedonia (Greece), Electroacoustic Composition at the University of Music and performing Arts of Vienna (teacher: K. Essl), and Composition - Computer Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Graz (teacher: G. Eckel). She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the same university.

Her compositions include works for solo instruments, ensemble, live and interactive electronics and have been performed in Greece, Austria, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands and in the USA. As a composer and researcher she has participated in international festivals and conferences, among others: NIME 2017 (Aalborg Uninersity, Copenhagen), ICMC 2016 (HKU Utrecht), SMC 2016 (HfMT Hamburg), INTER/actions 2016 (Bangor University), Electroacoustic Winds 2015 (University of Aveiro), ICAD 2015 (IEM Graz), Next_generation 6.0 Festival (ZKM Karlsruhe), 6th International Symposium on Music/Sonic Art (Musikhochschule Karlsruhe), and the 3rd International Forum for Young Composers (Ensemble Sond' Ar-te, Lisbon).

She is co-founder and member of the electronic duo intra-sonic.
